I'm an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Information System at the University of Melbourne. I direct the iSchool at Melbourne, and am a member of both the Interaction Design Laboratory and the Information Systems. I was formerly the Director of the Centre for HCI Design, City University. I'm principally interested in information interaction - how to make computer-delivered information more accessible to users. My goal is to create technologies that connect the computer, human and the environment as seamlessly as possible.

Interact Best Paper Award: with Dana McKay and Stephann Makri, I recently was awarded the Best Paper at Interact 2019. The paper investigated how effectively the interior design of a bookshop facilitated unexpected and serendipitous encounters of new books.
MAHA: a tool for analysing patterns of user behaviour in ebooks. Currently supports EBL book data, but further formats due shortly. Under development, and due for open release in 2020.
